When Bryant wants someone to hold him he will say "hold you" instead of "hold me". I'm always saying,"do you want me to hold you?" We've also realized we tell the dogs to shut-up a little too often. It's not a good parenting moment when your child tells something (Angus) or someone (me) to shut-up. Thankfully it doesn't seem to have stuck with him and we are not telling the dogs to shut-up anymore, let's hope it's one of those things that he forgets. I had another bad moment the other day when I told Bryant to give Elmo kisses and when he tried to Elmo bit him on the nose. I should have known that would happen but it seemed like a good idea at the time.
It's been pretty uneventful around here. We went to the Zoo on Friday and I think it's the first time Bryant was actually interested in the animals. He was really excited to see the Giraffes, or the G-affs as he calls them. The Zoo also has two new orangoutangs but we didn't stick around there too long because the poor things looked so sad. One was just hanging onto the fence with his head down. It was a nice cool day so most of the animals were out and we were able to see the lions really close for once. They were sleeping right next to the glass.
We are looking forward to Thanksgiving next week. We'll be staying home and celebrating at the Nelson's. It's going to be a pretty quiet Thanksgiving without all of the kids and grandkids there though. It's also going to be busy because I have six stores to visit next week and I may have to go to three of them on Black Friday. Thankfully they will be grocery stores so it shouldn't be too bad.

Toys R Us Big Book
We were in the car yesterday and Bryant saw the Toys R Us ad on the seat. He asked for the toy book so I gave it to him. This picture cracks me up because you can just see the funny grin on his face from the look in his eyes. One of my favorite things about Christmas was getting the JcPenny or Sears Christmas catalogs in the mail. I would spend HOURS pouring over the toys trying to decide exactly what I wanted.

Mini Pizza's
The other night we were looking for something to eat late and really didn't have a lot in the house. We decided to make mini pizzas with Rhodes rolls, spaghetti sauce, pepperoni, and mozzarella cheese. The rolls were frozen so we popped them in the microwave until they were thawed (don't over cook them or the dough will be too rubbery), spread them out on a cookie sheet and topped them with our toppings. We baked them on 425 degrees for about 10 minutes until golden brown and bubbly. We were surprised at how good they turned out. I'm sure it wasn't the most nutritious meal, but it was quick and easy and I'm sure kids would have fun making their own. If you like a little thicker crust just double up the rolls. I liked the thinner crust, Clark liked the thick one. Anyway, if you have all of these random things hanging around your house, give it a try.

Halloween Pictures
We hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween. We went to Leigh and Brendon's for dinner, pictures and the much anticipated Trick-or-Treating.
Bryant was not real excited about pictures and his hard hat would not stay on. You've also gotta love the big wet spot on his overalls from his spilled juice. That's okay, Aubrey wanted to take a picture with me.
Pictures of the kids with Nana. Leigh was trying to get Bryant in the picture and then he decided to poke at Shayne.
Trying to get pictures with Aunt Jenny. Bryant ran through the shot in some cool sun glasses, had to stop and look at them and then look at himself in the TV. He's pretty vain. He really likes to look at himself.
So that was Halloween. I keep hoping Bryant is going to get to a point where he will cooperate and let me get a decent picture of him. I don't know if that is ever going to happen but I keep hoping.

Bryant at Three
I keep meaning to post this, mostly just for me. A few things about Bryant.
He's wearing a size 11 shoe.
He's wearing size 4T or larger shirts and 4T pants.
He's always ready to go somewhere.
He's learning to express himself better and his vocabulary is growing every day.
He loves to point out animals on National Geographic Kids website.
He is extremely opinionated and stubborn.
He is not shy at all, he'll run into a crowded room and not think twice about it.
Potty training is not so successful. He's just not interested right now.
The first thing he does in the morning is get in bed with us and snuggle for a minute, then he wants his breakfast.
He still loves the water.
He's figuring out what Angus and Elmo are and tried to love on Elmo the other day. Angus won't allow any type of interaction.
Everyday after I get him dressed, he wants to get re-dressed in something he picks out.
He loves to be tickled and chased, and loves playing Hide and Seek.
He always reminds me to pray before meals.
He'll eat almost any type of fruit but no veggies. We're still working on the veggies.
I'm sure the list could go on and on. I may update it as I think of things to add.

Bryant's Third Birthday
The festivities began on Friday when my mom and Monica knocked on my door very unexpectedly. They decided two weeks ago to surprise us and it was quite the surprise. Bryant was so wound up that night I didn't think he would go to bed. He was so excited to have company.
Saturday was the big day and Balloons were the theme of the day. While Bryant was napping we filled 30 balloons and Clark learned how to make balloon animals and hats for all the kids. When Bryant woke up from his nap he had a house full of balloons.

I think all of the kids enjoyed the balloons Uncle Clark made for them. Shayne, Grace, and Aubrey all had arms full when they left (sorry Leigh).

Bryant's first bike. We haven't taken it outside to try out yet because the weather has not been too nice the last few days.
Bryant wasn't too hip on everyone singing to him, but I think he secretly enjoyed all the
attention.

The only melt down of the day was Bryant not wanting to wear his party hat. He looked so picked on.

This is the first year Bryant has eaten his cake and ice cream without having to be force fed.
I think all in all the day was a success and everyone had fun. Now it's time to start planning for next year! No not really.
